I remember back in the 1980’s and 1990’s seeing
advertisements for ways to make money by processing mail. I even joined one.
You sent someone $5, and then you got the ads to put up around town or post in
the mail. You made copies of the material and whenever someone sent you $5 from
one of your ads, you sent them the material. Now fast forward 20 years…
Today we are looking at Email Processing System, or EPS. EPS
is the natural evolution of the mail-order money machine. Its ads say that you
can have unlimited income, making $100s a day, all by processing emails. But,
can you really?
It costs $25 to join EPS. You get the basic material with
that to start placing ads. That $25 gets you the information to send to others,
a webpage for them to sign up through, and the right to use the EPS name. For
an extra cost you can get a nice looking landing page to send your prospects
to, too help close the deal.
The business plan is very simple: You promote EPS and people
pay $25 to join. That $25 goes directly to your PayPal account instantly.
Simple and easy. The more people that sign up, the more money you make. Anyone
can do it from the comfort of their own home in their spare time. No levels or
tiers, no MLM, just your sales paying you directly. What could be easier?
Now, for the question that pops into everyone’s head: is it
a scam?
What is important to understand is that with the EPS
membership, and it is a membership, you do not really get anything other than
the membership. There is no real training, no products, and nothing to
maintain. You have access to the EPS name and brand. Yes, there is a few pages
of training that you get on how to process emails and payments when you get
them, but there is nothing really applicable to other business models in the training.
Now, there is certainly the opportunity to earn money with
it. There are people out there who are looking for a work-at-home business, who
have $25 and who can do the work. The difficulty is getting them to sign up.
Many people do view this business plan as a scam. They have seen plans like
this, maybe participated in one or two, and found it to be something other than
what they expected.
Keeping in mind what the EPS business model is, I don’t feel
I can truly say it is a scam. You are not promising something that is not
delivered. It is up to the person doing the marketing to get people to sign up
for it. If you understand what your $25 gets you it is not a scam.
However, I will say that making any money at EPS is going to
be difficult. People are aware that your $25 does not get you anything of real
value and it does not guarantee a return. There are many other businesses that
provide something other than just the membership in the company or service. So,
while I will say it is not a scam, it is definitely not the easiest way to make
money in a home based business. Therefore, if you choose to proceed with EPS as
a business choice, be prepared to have to work hard promoting it.
